[REBOL] Rebol / View under Ubuntu Linux

I tried to start rebol / view under Ubuntu-Linux (with Gnome
Desktop). Ubuntu is a debian-variant. All I get is:

To see most recent beta changes, type: changes?
Then nothing happens. It seems, that rebol hangs. Does
anybody knows the cause for that?
