[REBOL] Re: RSL: Rebol Standard Library

From: m:koopmans2:chello:nl at: 23-May-2001 23:15

I have given the idea some thought again and have concluded that RSL may not be a good idea. Good things don't come from a standard but from the fact that a lot of people use them. What is much more important is the fact that we, Rebollians, create great code and share that in any way. Heavily used code will be a defacto standard. Since the active community is pretty small, I think for now I / we should focus on coding, coding, coding. That's an individual responsibility of each and every one of us. If you want this technology to succeed: - Spread the word - Buy the license - Write the scripts - Share your stuff Then what will be the RSL? The code that is most widely used. Perhaps we should use the script library as our repository (it worked or Rugby) and announce on this list. Thanks, Maarten
