... AFAIAC *any* solution based on "transformation" of the standard
algorithm would go in the "custom" category.
Besides, (although I don't think Ackermann belongs, partly because I
agree with Carl's comments, and partly for other reasons) what if we
decided to benchmark with
ack [3..5] 8
instead?
