Find me a language that make it shorter ! (except a phone call, that's
just 12 number ;-)

How about "Lake Como"? Only 30 min outside of Milan, and quite a
sight from what I have heard.
Pekr
16-Jun-2005
[141]
well, it will depend how expensive is such hotel :-)
Gabriele

[142]
if there's time, we could do a trip there. but... not sure about
the time part :)

I was thinking about organizing the conference in Lake Como, if possible;
Nice surroundings.
May I ask why Milan?
Gabriele
16-Jun-2005
[148]
a reboler that works in a school near milan offered to host the conference.
JaimeVargas

[149x2]
Ok. Then thats a good reason.
Is the location for the conference a school?
Gabriele
16-Jun-2005
[151]
yes. a high school.
Pekr

I have thought it will be big show. Some small hotel or so :-) But
that would be surely more expensive ...

If you are searching for hotels, try: www.hrs.de It's on of the best
hotel reservation systems I know about.
IIRC they have an english interface as well.
I'm still thinking if I go by plane or by car. As I live in the south-west
of Germany, I could pick-up some people.
Gabriele

petr: i think the school has big rooms.

but I need a restaurant too :-) Hope there will be some after-party
in the evening? :-)
I would welcome if interim releases would be commented in the same
way, as Carl did with View 1.3 Build Change Log. It keeps ppl informed
....
Gabriele

[159]
petr: oh sure there will be restaurants in the area. and we'll be
sure to pick the best ones. food is very good in italy :-)
Robert

[160]
That's true... and red-wine. And the girls in Milan too :-))

very exciting. seems an excellent idea to use the school, better
facilities than a hotel, and likely all the equipment for classes
(projectors, screens, even overheads maybe?)
DideC

[163]
And if it's cheaper, may be more people can come.

now the dates. If anyone of us is about to go there and reserve
flights and hotels... the sooner the date is known, the sooner its
possible to try and make it.
someone has to take charge and decide and become the focal point
of the organisation, otherwise its going to become hard to get there....
airfares cost more as deadlines are closer...
Graham

[166]
But often hotels become cheaper the closer to the deadline.

so far 8 people sent in the survey email. we need a bit more to decide
for dates and so on.
yeksoon

[168]
did u try sending the survey to other 'interest' groups
Gabriele

[169x2]
not yet. i'd like to get the feedback from the rebolers first, then
make up a plan based on that.
reason: first of all, the devcon is for rebolers first, others second.
second, we need speakers, otherwise there's no point in having other
people coming; if we have no speakers, then let's just make a "meeting"
or "party" or whatever you want to call it.

last week in September otherwise I can't attend ;-).
yeksoon
22-Jun-2005
[172x2]
'Sept' shall be fix a Rebol DevCon month
so, future devcon should not deviate from it too far off.

+- half a week

last week means Sep 26th - Oct 2nd?
if so - do the others that selected 19-25 have a problem with that?
Robert
22-Jun-2005
[176]
Weekend 24/25 would be OK too :-))
Gabriele
22-Jun-2005
[177]
i'm asking because a lot selected 26-2 too. i haven't counted the
submissions yet, as they are still coming.

I prefer Sep 26-Oct2nd...my 2cents worth
Allen

[179]
Late Sept / Early Oct is 10% cheaper in airfares from here., is it
the same for others?

[180]
I know I selected 19-25 but 26-2 would be kewl too
Maxim
22-Jun-2005
[181]
if I am to attend, the 26-2 would be best for me.
MichaelB

[182]
Even if I send 19-25, most probably 26-2 is ok for me too - can't
plan anyway ahead right now.

Anytime is good for me.
